As a reporter for Channel 7 news, the Boston Marathon presented me with a life-changing story. Despite my initial lack of interest in covering the event, little did I realize it would soon become the most horrifying tale I would encounter. Once the runners had some time to recuperate, I approached the winners for interviews.

In my interview with the third place winner, I was startled by a loud explosion coming from the north of Boylston Street. Soon after, another explosion followed. The police responded by drawing their weapons and the expressions on their faces showed terror and confusion as they cleared the street. The heart-wrenching sight of people crying, screaming, and praying filled me with deep sorrow. I witnessed this tragic scene where many lives were lost or loved ones were taken away. Fortunately, I managed to escape with minor injuries but the haunting memories remain. This incident has completely altered my perspective on life, making me cherish every step I take as it can be abruptly snatched away without any warning.
