It is evident that Tom really has not changed throughout the novel while Huck in some instances reasons and says instead of sawing off the leg of the bed, why not just lift up the bed. There is a little bit about stealing at the end and Toms take on Huck's "borrowing". Also, Tom is gaining power by convincing Huck, a matured young man, into believing that outrageous ideas are essential and normal.
