They cross the 38th parallel and they head to Pusan in South Korea

This makes the General of the North Korean army (in Pusan) choose to retreat to defend his homeland

Half a million men are sitting here and wait to attack. They come over the 38th parallel and push all Koreans back. They then reestablish the boundaries

The Suez Canal connected the Mediterranean Sea and Red Sea. Egypt's ties with the Soviet Union angered Britain and the US. Gamal Abdel Nasser, Egypt's leader, reacted to the Western powers cutting off aid to Egypt by seizing the canal, which was owned by France and Britain. France, Britain, and Israel joined to attack Egypt. The US, along with the Soviets and the rest of the UN, pressured the attackers to withdraw from Egypt

He was an American pilot and got shot down in his U2 plane and was captured by the Soviets. They demanded answers from the US

The Soviet Union launched the world's first space satellite called Sputnik and it was sent into orbit around the Earth. This meant that the Soviet Union had a missile powerful enough to reach the US. American scientists raced to launch a satellite and billions of dollars was spent for space research
