Guided by key concepts of Choice theory to identify his behavioral dynamics, to provide a direction for him to work toward, and to teach him about better alternatives for achieving what he wants. Show him that he does not have to be a victim unless he chooses to be. There is little he can do undo his childhood. Recognizes that all of his symptoms and avoidances keep him from getting what he most wants. Have him describe how his life would be different if he were symptom free. Use bibliotherapy to replace ineffective choices. Learns that he is the only person who can control his own destiny.
