The Power of Thought Essay
The Power of Thought Dmitri Staicov Professor Serguey Ivanov RLG 200a New Age Spirituality April 28, 2008 Introduction “Whatever a mind can conceive, it can achieve. ” W. Clement Stone (1902-2002) “Whether you think you can or think you can’t, either way you are right. ” Henry Ford (1863-1947) People have been exploring their thoughts for thousands of years.
They were always curious about the structure of their brain and particularly about the concepts of how their mind works.Ancient Babylonians, one of the most thriving civilizations in the world’s history, had a tremendous success in not only discovering the power of human thought, but also in implementing it in every day life. In his book “The Richest Man in Babylon” George Samuel Clason used the Babylonians as an example of wisdom and entrepreneurship. Those of them who concentrated their thoughts on wealth were obtaining more and more wealth (for instance, the book’s character Arkad); those who focused only on poverty and debt were receiving even more poverty and debt (the book’s musician Kobbi and chariot builder Bansir).George Samuel Clason understood the secret of thoughts – “Like Attracts Like” – and used it as a guide to achieve financial prosperity.
But if we can use our thoughts to accomplish wealth, why can’t we use them to in all other domains of life? If we look at the greatest people in history – Shakespeare, Plato, Emerson, Edison, Einstein, Lincoln – they all knew about this power and used it on permanent basis to achieve what they dreamed to achieve (Byrne, 2006). Philosophers and theologian leaders, in general, viewed human thoughts as something of non-material nature. However, physical laws state the opposite: houghts, as a product of the physical brain activity, are also physical; they obey precise physical laws (Rajvanshi, 2004). Therefore, thoughts are not just fruits of our imagination. They really exist and, moreover, can be explored and can receive scientific explanation. The secret of thoughts, inaccessible for thousands years, in the 20th century was finally revealed to people.
The Nature of Human Thought One of the most outstanding scientists who contributed vastly to the exploration of human thoughts is Dr. Anil K. Rajvanshi at the Nimbkar Research Institute, India. A former Ph.
D. student and faculty member of the University of Florida (Gainesville, USA) with 25 years of experience in the field of renewable energy, he multiplied research on human thoughts and their physical aspects. His book “Nature of Human Thought” gives scientific explanation to the physical processes of thought generation. All the modern research on brain functioning has been conducted with the help of the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) techniques. Resonance of magnetic waves in an MRI machine allowed the scientists to explore human brain activities with a very high precision.Sometimes they [scientists] use the functional MRI (fMRI) in order to receive even sharper images.
Note, however, that functional MRI can intervene in the thought processes because it creates a magnetic field tens of thousands of times more intense than the magnetic field of our planet. Owing to the MRI techniques scientists discovered that there are approximately 100 billion neurons in the brain. Most of the time our brain “fires” a particular portion of neurons for day-to-day thoughts, for instance, which shirt to put on for work, how to turn on the lights in the room, etc.Nevertheless, to produce a truly “deep” thought which someone might contemplate and focus on for a long time, nearly entire brain gets in action. It can fire almost all the 100 billion neurons in order to generate that particular thought.
The amount of neurons firing also determines how long the brain concentrates on a certain thought and its energy. In the Indian teachings of Patanjali Yoga Drashan a really “deep” thought, in which an individual focuses on the chosen subject and reflects it very intensely going to an almost trance state of the mind, is called “Sanyam”.Dr. Anil K. Rajvanshi argues that repetitive practice of Sanyam helps a person to develop critical thinking and a strong, powerful mind. The more powerful mind an individual has, the more intensely he or she attracts things into his or her life.
But in order to better understand the nature of human thoughts, let us first consider the concept of dissipative structures. Dissipative Structures The idea of dissipative structures was invented in early 1970s by the Belgian (originally Soviet) scientist, Nobel Laureate Ilya Prigogine. He described them as structures based on energy whose size and shape depended “on the quantity and quality of energy supplied to the system” (Rajvanshi, 2004). Imagine a utensil filled with water and heated from below. Over a certain period of time the heating energy will create a random movement of molecules of water or the so-called “convection currents. ” These currents will take the heating energy form the lower part of the utensil and spread it in the top part of water.
Separate water molecules move chaotically obeying the precise natural laws of motion. But if we consider big united groups of molecules – convection currents – we will see that their motion is synchronized. Each individual water molecule is “attracted” to the flowing group, and the group becomes and “attractor” of all separate molecules and, first of all, of the heating energy. “The Indian scientist and yoga promoter Patanjali,” – says Dr. Anil K. Rajvanshi in the “Nature of Human Thought,” – “has proven that thoughts work on the same concept.
” He says that thoughts are the dissipative structures or “attractors” of their subject. In other words, whatever a person thinks about, he or she attracts into his or her life. As one thought appears and then fades away (when the energy supplied to the brain is over), our mind is renewed by another thought, and this is how a brain conversation takes place. Our internal “I” whom others also call ego, will, or sense of identity, is like a central controller that determines how much energy to supply the brain with to keep a particular thought in mind. Even today science has not completely discovered how “I” affects this process!!!The image that appears in our mind due to the firing of brain neurons is a hologram which explains why we always think “in terms of shape and geometry.
” Deep thoughts The more and the longer we concentrate on a certain subject, the better and the clearer is our hologram picture and the closer to a deep thought we are. Why would science single out these thoughts into a separate category? The answer is simple: deep thoughts – “single-subject” thoughts contemplated and reflected intensely for a long time – generate the most efficient actions.Deep thoughts produced the most outstanding discoveries on the planet: Einstein’s Theory of Relativity, Newton’s Gravitation Theory, Mendeleev’s Periodic Table of Chemical Elements… (Byrne, 2006). The list can go on for long. All these great thinkers were dreaming their discoveries day and night, and as scientists believe today, if someone thinks about a specific thing deeply, with joy and desire, Nature will expose this person to all the secrets of his or her thoughts. Such a trance-like condition – Sanyam – made by a person on any subject, will bring him or her, as Dr.
Anil K.Rajvanshi says, to the subject’s “complete knowledge or mastery over it. ” Besides it, deep thoughts give people tremendous joy and happiness. Indeed, isn’t it exciting to realize that you are getting into deeper and deeper knowledge of a particular topic, that you might be at the threshold of a new invention or discovery? Few if any other things can bring us as much drive and exhilaration.
In addition, deep thoughts can galvanize our pituitary gland and give us a feeling of happiness. Our physical brain is somehow set up so that we obtain a sense of satisfaction when “in deep thought. Eventually competence in the concept of deep thoughts and their ramifications can help the humans to make steady progress toward joy and self-realization. Empowered by fired brain neurons, thoughts work synchronically and attract their subject.
But why is it only the subject? Why not something opposite to it? A turning point in researching and understanding thoughts was the discovery of their frequency and vibration. Thought Frequency and Vibration Frequency and vibration are the two concepts that reveal the truth about the power of a human thought – the Law of Attraction. They prove us that thoughts have physical basis. The first person to discover the truth about the thought waves was William Walker Atkinson (1862-1932) – American attorney, publisher, merchant, and first of all, a pioneer of the New Thought Movement (Newthoughtlibrary. com, n.
d. ). In his New Age classic book “Thought Vibration or the Law of Attraction in the Thought World” (1906) Atkinson demonstrated the analogies between the Gravitation Theory and the Law of Attraction. He proved an interesting fact: every human thought has a frequency, the frequency of firing neurons during the process of thinking.
Surprisingly, positive thoughts turned out to be several hundred times stronger (having a higher frequency) than negative thoughts! Atkinson also proved that there are enormous gaps in the spectrum of light, sound, electric, and magnetic vibrations, wide enough to contain other dimensions. One of them is the dimension through which thoughts travel, which means that thought waves and vibrations and as real as those of light, heat, electricity, and magnetism. It is just that the five human feelings are not capable to distinguish them.Another great New Thought thinker who shares W.
W. Atkinson’s opinion is Alan Seale. An outrageous author, a leadership and transformation instructor, and a spiritual teacher, he wrote the book “Intuitive Living: A Sacred Path” and in 2001 won the COVR Visionary Award with it for Best Book in Spirituality (UNjobs. com, 2008). In “Intuitive Living: A Sacred Path” Seale approved Atkinson’s theory and added some of his own. For instance, he approved that thoughts represent a particular energy which, as a result of changes in thoughts, vibrates at a high frequency.
One of Alan Seale’s new concepts was that thought vibrations tend to travel into the outside world and to start taking a form. This clearly explains why people often say that thoughts tend to materialize. In order to better explain how vibrations travel outside the human mind in all the directions, Seale gives an example of throwing a rock into the lake water – the waves produced by the rock are similar to those generated by our thoughts. Seale also argues that the longer we have a deep thought on something, the more often we send out a specific frequency into the outside world, and the stronger vibration pattern we establish. If a thought occurred as a single-event flash, it will have a weak frequency and little power to get materialized. On the other hand, if a thought emerges and is given attention, it “begins to carry power.
” “The more attention it [thought] is given,” – Seale says -“the more it begins to…shape our world and our relationship to it. ” But the largest contribution of the book “Intuitive Living: A Sacred Path” is the detailed truth about the Law of Attraction. Alan Seale finally revealed the essence of the proverb “Birds of a Feather Flock Together. He proved that vibrations that have resembling frequencies, i. e.
resembling thoughts, attract each other whereas the vibrations with different frequencies tend to repulse each other. Now it becomes clear why some people feel attracted to each other at the first sight. The frequencies of their thoughts perfectly match. Then why are there quarrels between friends and misunderstandings between parents and their kids? They are sending thoughts at different frequencies which do not match, and none of them is usually willing to adjust to someone else’s frequency. Finally, “Intuitive Living: A Sacred Living” confirms Atkinson’s theory of positive thoughts being much more powerful than the negative thoughts.
Alan Seale agrees that “the energy field vibrates at a faster rate around those individuals who dwell on positive thoughts (higher frequency)” and, thus, are at a higher level of consciousness rather than those who live their lives on “automatic pilot. ” Now we understand the key to the Law of Attraction – “Like Attracts Like. ” The good part of it, according to Alan Seale, is that our thoughts attract not only the people we like to think about, but also the things we think about. We always draw what we ourselves project. The Secret “We always draw what we ourselves project” says Ronda Byrne’s famous book and movie “The Secret”.
An Australian television writer and producer with a 20-year experience in the field, initiator of the Prime Time Productions Company, Rhonda Byrne found out about the Law of Attraction in the spring of 2004, and her life began to change drastically. Empowered by the secret power that all of us, humans, have, she made up her mind to share the Law of Attraction with the entire world. She invited some of the most successful American writers, scientists, speakers, and entrepreneurs to tell the world how to direct the thought power properly in order to live a rich, happy, healthy, and abundant life. I consider “The Secret” to be one of the most valuable books I have ever read. I’ve heard about the fact that thoughts tend to get materialized, but I never paid special attention to it.
Now I realize it to a much fuller extent. Someone might argue that it’s not true if a person visualizes a certain thing and then receives it.I can say only one thing: thoughts are the initiators of deeds, and it is nearly impossible to achieve good results only by meditation. When you think of something you really like, you set up a behavioral pattern (establish a strong thought vibration pattern) which you will follow in your deeds. Deep thoughts should always be followed by a LOT of EFFORTS.
The Law of Attraction, in its turn, reveals the secret of deed-initiating thoughts which everybody can take advantage of. The Secret Revealed and Made Simple The secret of the power of thoughts existed for many thousands of years. It has always been and always will be,” says Rhonda Byrne in “The Secret. ” The leaders in the past – Hitler, Stalin, Tojo – who knew about the power of thought and used it on their purposes, did not let it penetrate into the public. They kept people in the dark, unaware of the thought power.
People were supposed to go to work, run errands and do the assigned jobs, and, without any questions or objections, to return home. People did everything by default rather than on purpose. Their thoughts obeyed and were literally controlled by someone else, and their lives could hardly be called meaningful.Yet, history knows lots of those who had been aware of the power of thought and wanted to share it with the world.
Indirectly they championed this powerful secret in their activities. Robert Browning, William Blake, and William Shakespeare conveyed it in their literary works, especially poetry. Such musicians as Beethoven delivered it through their music. The most prominent thinkers like Socrates, Plato, Pythagoras, Einstein, Goethe, Bacon, Emerson, and Newton included the powerful secret of thoughts in their scientific works and teachings.Deep thoughts changed their lives forever; they were memorialized in history, and their glorious names went through many years of history.
Religions like Hinduism, Judaism, Buddhism, Islam, and Christianity as well as great civilizations like ancient Babylonians and Egyptians had been conveying the idea of thought power in their scripts and narratives. “What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them,” says the Holy Bible (Matthew 11:24). These facts bring us to the following conclusion: we all conduct ourselves by one immense power, one law. It’s The Law of Attraction. Is it just a coincidence that 1 per cent of the population owns approximately 96 per cent of the world’s wealth? It’s not a coincidence, it’s projected that way.
These people, consciously or unconsciously, used the secret of thoughts and attracted wealth into their lives. They thought and keep thinking of superabundance of money and wealth and, at the same time, they never permit any contradictory thoughts to settle in their consciousness. Their primary thoughts are about abundance and wealth, and this is what, in fact, attracts wealth into their lives. This is how the Law of Attraction works.
On the other hand, you might have heard of those who had earned enormous riches, lost them all, and then over a short period of time earned enormous riches again. Think of Donald Trump, Manhattan real estate tycoon, who filed his business for bankruptcy in 1990 and, moreover, by 1995 piled up a personal debt of nearly 2 billion dollars (about. com, 2008). Nevertheless, today he is one of America’s most prosperous entrepreneurs again. What happened to him as to many other entrepreneurs with similar stories?By the late 1980’s Trump, having dominant thoughts on financial prosperity, created a huge real estate empire.
Later, whether he was aware of it or not, he was getting more and more worried about the maintenance of his large business. He let the frightening thoughts of loss of the empire to get into his mind, until those thoughts became dominant. From that moment Trump was focused on the loss of old assets rather than on the gain of new ones. The Law of Attraction came into action.
Donald Trump attracted loss into his life; soon he lost all of his fortune. However, once he remained with basically nothing and had nothing to lose, the sense of fear for his wealth disappeared. Trump’s predominant thoughts again were on accumulation of wealth. He began attracting what he was thinking about – wealth. In the late 1990’s he came back to large business, and today his fortune is estimated by Forbes to be equal to 2. 7 billion dollars (about.
com, 2008). This example is a vivid illustration of how the Law of Attraction replies to our thoughts, no matter what kind of thoughts we have. Like Attracts Like” – we always attract what we think about. Rhonda Byrne’s book “The Secret” and its famous speakers reflect the earlier theories on thought frequency and vibration on page 9 the thought structure is confirmed by John Assaraf, an international best-selling writer and a business guru who founded four multi-million dollar corporations including the famous REMAX (secret-seminar. com, 2007).
Just like Alan Seale and his book “Intuitive Living: A Sacred Path,” Assaraf argues that all thoughts have specific frequencies, and that, as a result, we can measure thoughts. He also supports Seale’s theory about establishing a strong vibration pattern when contemplating particular things for a long time. “If you’re imagining what that looks like, you’re emitting that frequency on a consistent basis,” – Assaraf says. “Thoughts are sending out that magnetic signal that is drawing the parallel back to you,” continues Dr.
Joe Vitale, the world’s top-5 marketing specialist and a Ph. D. metaphysical practitioner. He affirms that people attract people with the same thought frequency and supports Seale’s idea that thought vibrations, upon going into outside world, start getting materialized. Thus, “The Secret” is another source, already popular and best-selling among ordinary people, that confirms the way the Law of Attraction works.
According to John Assaraf, the only problem is that people concentrate their mind on the things they do not want instead of what they want, and the Law delivers it to them. The more they don’t want something, the stronger and higher frequency they send out into the outer world, and the earlier is the “fructification” of their thoughts. Assume a person thinks “I don’t want to lose that money,” “I don’t want to argue with that person,” “I don’t want those shoes to hurt. The intentions are good, but their subjects are still “lose,” “argue,” “hurt.
” The more people contemplate this way, the more of “lose,” “argue,” and “hurt” they get. “The Law of Attraction is always working, whether you believe it or understand it or not,” says Bob Proctor, professor of History of Science at Stanford University. This means, that if we really want something to happen, we have to think positive. As William Walker Atkinson argued, positive thoughts are several hundred times more powerful than negative thoughts. Here we have come to another crucial moment: it is important not only to think good, but also to feel good.
It is hard to imagine that a person can feel good and have negative thoughts simultaneously. If we feel good, we generate good thoughts on a high, intense frequency, the frequency of “attracting more things that will make us feel good. ” Similar to the law of gravity, the law of attraction works always precisely, with no exclusions, “The Secret” affirms. If something comes into our life, we have most probably attracted it by thinking about it.
However, the Law of Attraction and the power of thought are not just about “wishful thinking” or “imaginary craziness,” as Dr.Fred Alan Wolf says. This quantum physicist and a science popularizer on the Discovery Channel, whose theories on thoughts were described in a Newsweek Editorial as being “on the fringes of mainstream science,” does have a point. He says that our mind generates thoughts and the images we hold “broadcast back” as our life experiences. I personally had a lot of situations when things happened to me, but as if I had seen it all somewhere before.
Sometimes we indeed attract the subjects of our thoughts up to very scrupulous details. What Rhonda Byrne offers us, readers, is to imagine ourselves being “human transmission towers” that send out different frequencies with their thoughts. So, if we want to transform something in our lives, we have to transform the frequency by changing our thoughts. If we want to be truly successful, we have to change our thoughts to the vibration of “the most magnificent version of me.
” The Creative Process – How to Use the Secret Knowledge of the structure and principles of the way human thoughts work is essential to people. With this knowledge we can shape our future instead of falling victims to the circumstances. Before reading Rhonda Byrne’s book I already knew some basic principles of how to implement the power of thought in real life. Yet, I still remained perplexed about the major concepts of the law of attraction. I wanted to know the exact concepts of its usage. “The Secret” answered my query in three easy steps.
Step 1: Ask The first step of the creative process relates to ambition and determination. It simply says: “Ask and the Universe will respond to you. ” We have to let the outer world know what exactly we want. Very often we ourselves do not know what we expect from a particular event.Bob Proctor, professor of History of Science at Stanford University, advices simply to write down our wishes on a sheet of paper, best of all in the present tense.
It is great to start our writing by a sentence like “I am so happy and grateful now that…” and then decide how life in its every field should be. We can choose anything we wish, but, first of all, we must be clear about our desires. If we are not clear about what we want, the law of attraction cannot bring it into our life. There is simply nothing specific to attract. In order to be successful in every area of life we have to make this process habitual. We should always be determined in terms of our goals to know in which direction to go.
Only then we will be establishing strong vibrations – properly attuned to our needs and wants – which, according to Alan Seale, will penetrate into the outer world and start taking a form. The Universe, as “The Secret” suggests, will then be somewhat of a Genie ready to say: “Your wish is my command. ” Step 2: Believe The second step of “The Secret” is to believe sincerely that the thing you contemplate is already yours. It is important have an “unwavering” faith and not to allow any contradictory thoughts.
Here Dr.Joe Vitale, the world’s top-5 marketing specialist and a Ph. D. metaphysical practitioner, explains why thousands of people seem to follow all the concepts of the law of attraction and still do not accomplish what they strived for.
It’s the counter-intentions. Physically counter-thoughts send out mental vibrations of opposite frequency and direction that eliminate the frequency of an actual thought. Nothing negative happens, but the contemplated thought is literally killed. If a person truly wants to achieve something, he or she has to get rid of any kind of contradictory thoughts like fear, delay, and particularly doubt.
When we don’t get the things we have “requested,” we start being frustrated and disappointed. And we start to doubt which gradually nullifies our original desire. We have to discern that feeling immediately and replace it with “unwavering” faith. Step 3: Receive The final step of the creative process comes out of the step “Believe. ” What Rhonda Byrne’s book suggests is to be ready to receive what you have asked and feel great about it.
In other words, to feel the way you will feel once the desire comes true. It is crucial to feel good, to feel happiness because only then you are sending out thought vibrations of what you want. What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them,” confirms the Bible (Mark 11:24). The fact is that our Universe is all about speed.
Metaphysical practitioner Joe Vitale agrees with it by encouraging people not to delay, to doubt, or to try to guess. “When the opportunity is there, when the impulse is there, when the intuitive nudge from within is there, act. ” These are his words, and this is what we are really supposed to do. People put a lot of effort, and they certainly ask a classic question like: “How much time will it take for my brand new car (house, job, relationship) to manifest? There is no centralized book of rules that would determine the exact time, but we should keep in mind that thoughts usually do not get materialized overnight. It takes some time before they take a form, and it all depends on how seriously we are focused on the subject of our thoughts. Rhonda Byrne advises us always to plan our day and determine every event in our life in advance, through our thoughts, and make it habitual.
Thus, we will settle natural forces ahead of us in all our deeds by thinking in advance the way we want things to happen. Then we will live our lives intentionally, not by default. Powerful ProcessesExpectation is a very mighty force of attraction as it entices things to us. As Bob Proctor said, “Desire connects you with the thing desired and expectation draws it into your life.
” As I am reading his words, I’m coming to a simple conclusion: let us expect things we want and disregard the things we do not want. People frequently consider their present life circumstances and say: ”This is who I am. ” James Ray, a self-made millionaire who devoted 17 years to studying success factors, states the opposite: this is not who these people are, this is what who they were as a result of their former thoughts and deeds.By estimating himself with his or her current state of affairs, a person condemns himself or herself to be or have in the future not more than they have in present. “All that we are is a result of what we have thought,” – Buddha (563 BC- 483 BC) had said.
“You create your own Universe as you go along,” asserted Winston Churchill. I think they both were right. We change and literally build ourselves by our thoughts using the powerful thought processes. Gratitude The first powerful process has already been mentioned before.
It’s gratitude.Rhonda Byrne’s book describes it as an initial way to attract more things into our lives. It is championed by the famous Wallace Wattles and his early-20th-century book “The Science of Getting Rich. ” “Many people who order their lives rightly in all other ways, are kept in poverty by their lack of gratitude,” he used to say. “The Secret,” in its turn, suggests that if you want something new like a brand new car, but you are not grateful for the old one you have, you produce a negative thought frequency of dissatisfaction which will be dominant and will eliminate the ositive frequency of having a new car.
As Bob Proctor encouraged us in the first step of the Creative process, we’d better start our goal-list with the words “I am so happy and grateful now that…” Visualization Visualization is a crucial thought process. It has been cultivated by the most outstanding teachers for thousands of years, and they all had been conveying one distinctive message: “When you visualize, you materialize. ” Consider an interesting case. Dr. Gary Schwarz and Lynne McTaggart conducted an experiment at the University of Arizona (abovetopsecret. com, 2007).
They attached body sensors to the muscles of volunteers, aged 20-35, and asked them to imagine flexing one of their hand biceps to the fullest extent. These sessions took place five times a week, and experimenters ensured that participants did not do any physical practice during the period of the experiment. Just several weeks later participants realized a surprising 13. 5 per cent increase in the muscle weight which lasted for three more months.
During the visualization process the volunteers’ muscles were flexing nearly as hard and in the exact same sequence as if they were actually put to work.If we think about the inventors and their creatures – Henry Ford and the car, George Eastman and the film, the Wright Brothers and the airplane, Thomas Edison and the light bulb – they all created miraculous inventions by the virtue of images they kept in their minds. They knew the secret power of thought. By clearly imagining the final outcome, by having an unwavering faith in their inventions, by working hard, feeling abundant, and enjoying their work they achieved their goals. One of participants of “The Secret,” Jack Canfield, an internationally known expert in professional and personal development (motivational-depot. com, 2002), points out that, in fact, it’s the feeling, not only the image of thought, that generates the law of attraction.
He argues that it is not enough just to think positive and visualize what we want. It is essential to feel good, enthusiastic, and joyful, to feel the gratitude and abundance in order to send out truly strong and high-frequency thought vibrations that will start to get materialized. In addition, as he points out, it is necessary to stay in the mood of, let’s say, having a house and feeling the joy of living in it right now. He says that we should never be in the feeling of “I wish I could buy that house” or “Some day this house will be mine” because we send out thought vibrations of having something in the future.
If we stay in such a feeling, we will always be in the process of having things only in the future. Dr. Joe Vitale, the world’s top-5 marketing specialist and a Ph. D. metaphysical practitioner, asserts that it is best of all to visualize daily, to make it some sort of a hobby.
He also confirms that attraction is fueled by the feeling of good. ”You want to feel exhilarated about this whole process,” he admits. John Assaraf’s unusual experience proves the truthfulness of Canfield’s and Vitale’s advice. Assaraf tells about his Vision Board that he had in his youth.
This was a board upon which he would everything he was eager to achieve like a fancy car, a new expensive watch, or a soul mate of his dreams. Among these goals there was a mansion house of his dreams – with tennis courts, a swimming pool, and other facilities. He simply cut the picture of the house from a magazine and attached it to the Vision Board which he put in his office. Every time he would sit in his office, he would look at the board and visualize already having all of the Board things.
Five years later, as he had moved to a new house, his son found his Vision Board and asked him to explain what it was. As John Assaraf drew the Board out of the package box, he was about to cry: he bought not just an expensive, not just a similar house; he bought the exact same house whose picture he put on the Vision Board several years ago.It was a moment of epiphany for him. He finally understood t6e power of visualization. As Albert Einstein had once said: “Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions.
” In fact, I experienced the power of visualization myself. Since my childhood I dreamed to visit the United States and always pictured myself in the downtown streets of America’s large cities. I’ve always had the “stars and stripes” flag and other American attributes in my room, I liked to listen to American music and watch American movies. I was always associating myself with the US.In 2005 the dream of my childhood came true: I received a one-year full scholarship at an American private school in North Carolina and over that year was fortunate to travel around ten states and 7 metropolis cities.
My dreams of winning soccer tournaments and championships as well as entering an American University also came true not without the help of visualization. As I realize now, I often imagined myself winning the trophies and going to classes where I would learn in English and discuss some corporate issues with my friends. And just like in the case with American attributes, I happened to have soccer and AUBG attributes as well.Similar to John Assaraf, I would also look at them when being in my room and imagine myself winning the championships and going to the American University. Thoughts on Money What the vast majority of people, in my opinion, would immediately ask after learning the power and implementation of thoughts is: “How will thoughts help me to earn more money? How can I direct thoughts to become rich? ” Rhonda Byrne gives simple answers to that – focus on prosperity and attract abundance. The reason why a lot of people in developed societies do not have enough money is because they focus on lack instead of abundance.
They doubt in their ability to earn big money and send out blocking thoughts which literally kill the thoughts of being rich. As it is known, poverty is not just a state of affairs; it is a state of mind. People concentrate of the lack of money, as a rule, do not educate themselves financially or undertake any other serious measures to increase their earnings, and yet expect to be rich. In fact, they have a feeling of the lack of money, and simply attract a bigger lack of money. From reading business correspondence I concluded that rich or wealthy are those people who focus on abundance and learn to see money literally under their feet. They never complain how small their paycheck is; instead, they learn all the possible ways of additional earnings and get involved an all kinds of money-making activities.
Wealth is also not just a state of affairs; it a set of the mind. Whoever thinks, dreams, and speaks of prosperity, has it. “Tip the balance of your thoughts to wealth,” – says Rhonda Byrne, – “Think wealth. ” But in order to be prosperous, as “The Secret” suggests, it is vital not only to attract more money, but also to give more money. By giving away money for charity and other noble purposes, as the vast majority of wealthy people do, you say: “I have plenty of it. As a result, you have plenty of money in your thoughts and, as a result, attract even more of it into your life.
It’s just that we have to give the money, not sacrifice because the latter does not feel good and still generates the signal of lack. We have to give the money with heart and joy. It’s the feeling of good that empowers the law of attraction. Thoughts on Health Everyone knows about the Placebo Effect when a patient, trusting his family doctor and sincerely believing he or she would be cured, takes a sugar pill from the doctor and soon feels better or even recovers from the disease.
It is a vivid example of that human thought is the most important factor in the process of healing and maintaining good health. The patient thinks and sincerely believes that the pill he or she receives is the cure; the patient receives what he or she believes and soon is cured. If a person focuses on bad feelings and diseases, complains all the time about how this or that body part hurts, he or she will receive it by the law of attraction. As Dr.
Ben Johnson, physician, writer, and expert in energy healing, says, it all starts with one negative thought which later produces more and more similar thoughts and later manifests into a stress. So, he advises not to waste our time on complaining about pain and aging and talking to people about it, but to focus on being young and healthy, to start with one positive thought that will generate more positive thoughts by default. “Remove physiological stress from the body, and the body does what it is designed to do. It heals itself,” he adds. Another contributing participant in “The Secret” Dr. John Hagelin who is a quantum physics and public policy expert argues that joyful thoughts lead to a basically better body biochemistry.
Thus, he gives a tip to a universal tool for generating happy thoughts: laughter. “It [laughter] cannot only relieve stress, but may also increase the chances of surviving a serious illness,” says Your Better Health magazine. Regular laughter can diminish physical pain and be a “good workout for the heart” (EzineArticles. com, 2008). Scientists often compare it with “internal jogging. ” Laughter enhances blood circulation, gives good exercise to the diaphragm, and raises the level of oxygen in our blood.
People with mental attunement directed to humor automatically “shield” themselves from the flow of negative emotions and predominantly create favorable health conditions for themselves. Tests show that “hearty” laughter tends to stabilize blood pressure by raising the low and lowering the high blood pressure by at least ten points. Finally, laughter is proved to enhance the immune system. The story of cancer healing reported in the book “The Secret” by Cathy Goodman blew my mind.
A woman with a diagnosis of breast cancer said that she sincerely believed she would heal.Except all the necessary medical treatment she had to receive from the doctors, she added her own therapy to her schedule. Every day she would watch funny movies together with her husband and just laugh, laugh, and laugh. Besides, Cathy said she felt grateful for her healing. She recovered three months after she was diagnosed.
The story of this young lady reveals three outrageous powers in action: gratitude for healing, unwavering faith in healing, and the power of laughter to dissipate illness in the body. Final Thoughts and IdeasEconomics and many other sciences teach us that we live in the world of scarcity and that there are not enough resources for everybody. They establish in our minds that there is lack of goods and there is not enough wealth for everyone. As Michael Bernard Beckwith, an expert in the New Thought-Ancient Wisdom tradition of spirituality, says, we consequently live all our lives with feelings of fear and greed whereas in actuality “there is more than enough good to go around. ” We have more than enough bright creative thoughts; we have love, joy, and power in abundance.Just like entrepreneurs who learn to find money literally under their feet and involve themselves in all kinds of money-making activities, we can direct our thoughts and their positive vibrations towards finding plenty of love, joy, and power in casual every day situations.
We should remember that we are not limited by our finite body. We consist of atoms and molecules, and they consist of energy. Therefore, we are, first of all, energy. If we look at our hand under the microscope, we will see a thin energy layer – or aura – around it.If we go to a quantum physicist, as suggested by James Ray, a self-made millionaire who dedicated 17 years to exploring success factors, and ask the physicist: “What creates the world? ” he or she will answer: “Energy. ” We’ll ask to explain energy, and the physicist will start: “It can never be created or destroyed, always was and always has been, is moving into form, through form and outer form…” If we go to a religious person like a priest and ask him: ”What creates the world? ” he will answer: “God.
We’ll ask to explain God, and the theologian will begin: “It can never be created or destroyed, always was and always has been, is moving into form, through form and outer form…” It’s the same meaning, just different description. Basically, we deal with one Universal Mind that has plethora of knowledge, discoveries, and inventions; it is just waiting for us, humans, to come and retract them. In my opinion, we can do it best of all by our thoughts. We should always think good, positive thoughts; feel genuine joy and satisfaction about it; feel the abundance around us, and strive for it with no traces of fear, doubt, or delay. We should consistently visualize our goals, feel the gratitude for what we have, and know the three basic rules of thought materialization: ask, believe, and receive.
We should be enthusiastic about what we do. After all, if we want something to come true, we have to want it really badly. We have to think, and we have to act according to our thoughts. References Allen, Scott.
