There are some things in life happen so often that makes it easy to take them for granted and not fully appreciate the significance of seemingly mundane events. If the sun didn't rise there would be no distinguishing between the day and the night and the world would be in darkness. The moon revolving around the earth keep the waves on the sand and the ocean contained in its place. If the rain never fell the earth would dry up and the oceans disappear. No one could survive a day without any of these factors. Just as all these events come into play to keep our earth functioning, so each of our bodies needs the same things to keep us moving.

lar. I sleep every single night and if I get less than normal hours, I can tell a difference the next day. I will survive through the day on less than 5-6 hours but If its up to me I'll try and get around 8 hours because I know that I'll feel better the next day. Sleep is vital to the sanity and functionality of humans; it's a part of a select few vital factors to survival of the human body.

Just like eating give me energy for our activities throughout the day, sleep is equally necessary. The thing that I love so much about it is that even though its mandatory to my body, it's relaxing at the same time. brain slows down and my body devotes itself to resting my brain and getting ready for the next day.

The part of the brain that deals with logic and reasoning is turned off" while I'm sleeping but my brain is still working. Dreaming is something that happens at a certain point in a person's sleep cycle. Ever person dreams. A number of people claim they don't dream, when in reality they are just unable to remember their dreams. Dreaming is fascinating because often if something is weighing heavy on my mind it will usually come into play in my dreams that night.

Some can be nightmares but usually dreams are pleasant or even amusingly strange and abstract. In my average weekday I wake up early and go to work. From the moment I wake up there are a thousand and one thoughts running through my head. I have people to communicate with, places to go, bills to pay, meals to eat, and important deadlines to be met.

Not to mention all the people and relationships in my life and my dogs to feed and take care of. It such a relief to know that at the end of all that chaos there is a place that I can go and relax for a while, a place where none of that needs to be done or worried about. I go there every single night and it's healthy for my body, relaxing for my mind, and getting myself prepared for the next day ahead of me. There's a quote by Ernest Hemingway that says “I love sleep, my life tends to fall apart when I'm awake you know?” It couldn't

be said better. Sleep is like a grand escape from the stress of reality, a nightly haven that rests our souls for a time enabling us to awake again and continue with our day.

Like all things good and perfect, there is an end. The end to this restful contentment is the never failing sound of my alarm in the morning. All thanks to sleep I always awake rested and ready to conquer the next day ahead of me.
