Morality merely exists if we believe in God ; hence if God doesn’t exist there is no morality. There have been so many evil Acts of the Apostless committed in the name of God that it is hard to keep that a belief in God equates to morality. There are state of affairss that happen every twenty-four hours where determinations are made based off of human rights that contradict the word of God. Morality comes from within. it is an apprehension of right versus incorrect and the ability to take what is right. Knowing all this a belief in God is non a demand for a individual to be moral. ( Mosser. 2011 ) We are taught that ethical motives are fundamentally the difference between right and incorrect.

A kid may be taught that stealing is incorrect because it hurts the shop proprietor and can destroy the child’s repute. Or the kid may be told that if they steal they will be punished because God is ever watching. The kid has learned the cardinal difference between right and incorrect. even if the logical thinking is different. This will let the kid to do moral determinations when they grow up whether it is based off of human compassion or fright of God. If we accept that the kid understands right from incorrect regardless of their ground. we accept that God is non a demand to be a moral individual.

If a individual observes an act of force or anguish. they are morally required to halt it. In scriptural times these Acts of the Apostless were non merely accepted but encouraged by the bible. Today. a individual would non disregard these things merely because they did non believe in God. There are human rights that we believe each individual is entitled to and person with good ethical motives would assist out another individual in demand because it is the right thing to make. If it turned out that God does non be. force and anguish would non all of a sudden become acceptable. ( Mosser. 2011 ) Mass credence of a belief does non do it right.

Ancient faiths that believed in legion Gods have been pushed aside as faery narratives. for the more widely recognized belief in a individual God. During their clip those Gods were prayed to merely every bit fierily as today’s God. What was accepted as true back so is now known as a fable. and the Torahs of the twenty-four hours have been wiped off and replaced with our modern Torahs. These Torahs were put in to put to penalize people who do incorrectly to others. They have become the moral balance. If you do incorrect you will be punished. if you continue to make what is right you will populate unmolested and bask your freedoms.

God is non a demand for person to move morally. because there are earthly penalties for offenses. There is no right or incorrect without God because He determines what is right and incorrect. Moral criterions can non be enforced without God to guarantee that we are punished or rewarded for our Acts of the Apostless. Person who does non believe in God may alter their ethical motives to whatever suits them at the clip. We have been given guidelines by God on what is morally acceptable. and informed of the penalty that comes with being immoral. When an person does non believe in God they can non be a moral individual. because they have no moral criterions.

( Millard. A. 2000 ) The Ten Commandments give us a basic apprehension of what is right and incorrect. These Commandments along with assorted Bibles from the bible determine which Acts of the Apostless are moral and which are immoral. An person who witnesses a offense but does non believe in God can merely make up one’s mind that they are non responsible for halting the offense. This may take one to believe that if a non-believer does something right that they have ethical motives. This is non the instance. because they could merely as easy do incorrect and their scruples would hold been merely as clear.

They have no moral compass to state them that this act is taking them astray from God. ( Riskin. S. 2007 ) If one does non believe in God they can non cognize right from incorrect and can non make what is right because they do non hold the apprehension. The deficiency of a belief in God means that regulations do non hold to be followed. If you do non fear the wrath of God. there is nil to halt you from perpetrating immoral Acts of the Apostless. or any offenses for that affair. Any state of affairs can be overlooked because there is no fright of penalty without a fright of God.

Merely a individual with a steadfast belief in God can be considered moral because they fear His penalty and want his wages. God is the lone individual great plenty to implement moral criterions. without his counsel there can be no binding ethical motives. Moral criterions come from God and without Him a individual can non be moral. When we talk in absolutes we ignore possibilities that exist outside of our beliefs. There are many illustrations of persons that believed in God who acted amorally. every bit good as illustrations of people who do non believe in God moving with good ethical motives. Their beliefs do non find their morality. their Acts of the Apostless do.

If we are to establish morality entirely on a belief in God so which believer do we follow? Do we follow the truster who commits offenses. or merely the truster who is an solid member of society? Adolf Hitler was raised as a Catholic. and in his grownup life radius of his spiritual beliefs. He wanted to make a pure Germany. through a faith known as positive Christianity. Positive Christianity removed the Judaic elements from the standard Christianity philosophy and replaced them with Nazi doctrine. More than six million Judaic people were killed during the Holocaust in the ideal of positive Christianity.

Bill Gates is noted as stating he does non cognize if there is a God or non. yet he donates one million millions of dollars to Charity every twelvemonth. The foundation he formed with his married woman to turn to utmost poorness and hapless wellness in 3rd universe states has brought attending and alleviation to 1000000s of people across the Earth. These Acts of the Apostless were non done in the hopes that they would be rewarded. but alternatively to assist the human status. A general concern about the public assistance of our neighbours is non sole to God. Not every action is based entirely off of a person’s ethical motives.

There are many grounds people decide to make things and we can non judge a person’s moral standing off of a individual action. We do non look at Adolf Hitler and state that he is a great moral figure because he believed in God. On the same note we do non look at Bill Gates. a non-believer and state that he is immoral. We look at their actions over clip and find whether or non they acted morally. We know that killing 1000000s of guiltless people is immoral ; merely as we know that assisting ill and injured people is moral. Which God you believe in determines what you consider to be moral.

Moslems agree that polygamy is acceptable. Protestants and the Judaic believe divorce is acceptable if certain conditions are met. Catholics are purely against both polygamy and divorce. Which God is morally right? All of these groups worship the same God. so possibly it is the interlingual rendition of the word of God that is in inquiry. When we look at this we begin to hold a better apprehension that God’s contradictory words could convey the idea of what is moral crumpling down. There are many controversial moral indorsements in the bible that are accepted today.

There are besides commands given that are ignored because they are no longer socially accepted as truth. Exodus 20:13 says we must non kill. However. Leviticus 20:13 Tells us that if a adult male lies with another adult male he must be put to decease. There are many arguments and statements over whether homosexualism is moral. but we overlook the 2nd portion of the Bible because it is no longer held as a valid penalty. The times have changed and we can non slay or we will travel to imprison. Leviticus 19:19 says it is a wickedness to have on apparels made from two different types of stuff.

You will be hard pressed to happen anyone endorsing up this claim today. ( King James Bible ) Many spiritual people have chosen Bible from the bible to accommodate their life styles over the old ages. but ignore things that are no longer socially accepted as immoral. They hold others to strict criterions on affairs that they do non hold on and utilize poetries from the bible to back up their point of view. If everyone used the internal right versus incorrect attack to morality at that place would be less confusion on which criterions we held each other to.

It is unjust to reprobate person for something utilizing half of a statement from the bible. and so disregard the remainder of the statement because it does non hold with current beliefs. Our religion. lessons from our parents or even witnessing other people’s actions are different grounds to make up one’s mind what we believe is moral. All three have defects that can take to differing positions on the same topic. However. at the terminal of the twenty-four hours there are certain things that everyone accepts as morally right. or morally incorrect. These are state of affairss where it does non count how you learned it. you merely cognize it.

Biblical instructions tell us that certain things are acceptable. while others are punishable by decease. But in the legal society of America moving on the acceptable things will set down you in prison. and the immoral wickednesss are unalienable rights. Every twenty-four hours determinations are made across the universe without holding to see if we will be punished by a higher being. These things prove that a individual does non hold to believe in God to move morally. A moral individual is person who non merely understands the difference between right and incorrect. but besides does what is right.

The deficiency of God in someone’s life doesn’t make a individual immoral merely as the presence of God does non do person moral. Morality is non proven by a belief in God.
