Term Definition
Alternate Exterior Angles Nonadjacent exterior angles that lie on opposite sides of the transversal.
Alternate Interior Angles Nonadjacent interior angles that lie on opposite sides of the transversal.
Consecutive Interior Angles Interior angles that lie on the same side of the transversal.
Corresponding Angles Lie on the same side of the transversal.
Equidistant The distance between two lines measured along a perpendicular line is always the same.
Parallel Lines Coplanar lines that do not intersect.
Parallel Planes Planes that do not intersect.
Point-Slope Formula An equation of the form y-y=m(x-x) where (x,y) are the coordinates of any point on the line and m is the slope of the line.
Rate of Change Describes how a quantity is changing over time.
Skew Lines Lines that do not intersect and are not coplanar.
Slope For a line containing two points (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) the number M has given by the formula m=y2-y1/x2-x1
Slope-Intercept Form A linear equation of the form y=mx+b. The graph of such an equation has slope m and y-intercept b.
Transversal A line that intersects two or more coplanar lines at two different points
