question

Unit 1: Discuss the Fundamentals of Geography How do geographers describe where things are? Why is each point on Earth unique? How are different locations interrelated? How do people relate to their environment?
answer

Geographers us latitude and longitude to describe where Things are located. Geographers also use geographical features such as mountain ranges, lakes, rivers, and the ocean to point out a location. Each point on earth is unique because it has some difference in environment and people. Each point on Earth is different from the next and the last. Different locations are interrelated through many environmental and human factors. Diffusion of people through a wide area keeps many large countries interrelated and on the same page. For example People in NY will always know if anything important happens in LA and vice-versa. Also push and pull factors (Chapter 2) cause people to diffuse into other regional clusters further diversifying and interrelating different locations. People Relate to their environment in many ways. Environment effects the way people live. For example someone in Louisiana may eat more seafood and fish because it is close to the Gulf of Mexico. A different person in Montana may only eat beef because their is not that much seafood around. These are the fundamentals of Geography. (P.S. Be sure to add a topic from a different chapter that 1., I used Chapter 2)

Development is measured in a country by the amount of income per person, healthcare availability, amount of public transportation and public services also the average life expectancy an the average fertility rate and the infant mortality rate. This is all measured by the HDI (Human development Index). We can help develop our country by investing in our homes and neighborhoods and local public services. Another way Americans can help develop our country is to buy more merchandise from smaller local stores and not always the big name brands. However, it is important to buy from big name brands also. It is also important to pay taxes. We can all help develop each other by sending aid to other countries when needed and making fair trade and good economic relationships with other countries. We can also work to help cure illnesses and stop war in other countries.
