NIMS command and management
NIMS standard incident command structures are based on 3 key constructs:
multiagency coordination systems.

NIMS preparedness
The NIMS establishes measures for all responders to incorporate into their systems to prepare for their response to all incidents at any time.
NIMS resource management
NIMS mechanisms used to describe, inventory, track, and dispatch resources before, during, and after an incident.
NIMS communications and information management
communications and information systems enable the essential function needed to provide interoperability.
individual units or different organizations make independent and often inefficient decisions about the next appropriate action.
Span of control
This principal refers to keeping the supervisor/worker ratio at one supervisor for every three to seven workers.
