Cell

Protects delicate structures that lie underneath the skin.

A structure composed of different kinds of tissues.

A group of organs that work to perform a major function.

Homeostasis
The body’s tendency to maintain an internal balance.

Stress
Reaction of the body to potentially threatening, challenging, or disturbing events.

Skeleton
Made up of all the bones in a body.

Vertebrae
Makes up your backbone, allowing you to bend.

Joint
A place in the body where two bones meet.

Ligament
Connective tissue that holds two bones together.

Cartilage
A second type of connective tissue which is more flexible than bone.

Spongy Bone
Layer beneath the bone’s membrane.
